Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Direct Primary Care?
Soaring Pediatrics follows a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. I nstead of billing insurance for every interaction, you pay a simple, transparent monthly membership fee. This allows us to focus entirely on your child’s health, not insurance paperwork. With a smaller patient panel, there is an opportunity for direct access to the doctor, more time during visits, and personal care.
2. Does direct care mean ‘concierge’ care?
While similar in accessibility, our model is designed for everyday families. It includes all your well and sick visits, direct communication with your pediatrician, and unhurried appointments without the typical high costs of concierge medicine.
3. Can I join if my child has a pre-existing condition?
Absolutely. We specialize in managing chronic conditions like ADHD, asthma, and behavioral health. The DPC model is actually ideal for these children as it allows for the long, detailed visits and parent guidance they often require.
4. Is there a long-term contract?
No. We believe in the value of our care. While we hope to grow with your family through every developmental milestone, you may cancel your membership at any time with 30 days' notice.
5. Should I continue to have health insurance if I join a membership to DPC?
Direct primary care is not a replacement for health insurance. It serves as a medical home base where care is personal , accessible, and centered around your family. Medical insurance should continue to cover costs of hospital stays, ER visits, subspecialty visits, and any laboratory and imaging ordered.
